Elizabeth Low claimed the 2009 West Texas Cruisers Junior Dragster Championship at Desert Thunder Raceway on Saturday night. She wrapped up the championship in dramatic come from behind fashion with a second place finish in the last points race of the season.
Despite missing the first two races this year, Elizabeth drove her way into contention with a victory in the first race she attended and consistent podium finishes in the final three. Going into Saturday night's double points race, she found herself in 3rd place only 3 points out of the lead. With at least 6 other drivers in contention she clinched the championship with a semi-final round win in a very tight points race.
